What Happened Sunday...

People are still talking about what happened Sunday. Red Sox pitcher Matt Barnes was thrown out of Sunday's game against the Orioles. That is because he threw a pitch near Manny Machado's head.

Some fans say that Matt Barnes didn't do it on purpose but according to reports, Orioles 1st base man Chris Davis said, "I haven't seen a guy miss that bad in a while -- behind a guy's head." Many agree with Chris because they are major league pitchers. Is it just a coincidence that Manny Machado accidentally slid into a Red Sox player and almost got hit by the pitcher? Earlier in Sunday's game, some Boston pitches came close to Manny's knees but Manny backed out of the box. It seems like the pitcher tried to hit Manny on purpose.

It all started out when Manny Machado slid in to Red Sox Dustin Pedroia's legs at second base. Dustin did have to go out of the game because of the slide. According to reports, Manny did apologize on a text message to Dustin Friday night.

People make mistakes and make bad throws. Major League Baseball players are going to make errors or make bad slides. No one is ever going to make perfect plays every inning. Manny just made a bad slide on Friday and I don't think tried to hurt Dustin.

Then Sunday, Manny was up. During the game the pitches where inside and near Manny's knees. But then, Matt Barnes threw near Manny's head. The pitch hit Manny's bat before his body. So, it was a foul ball. But, Manny got up and hit a double to score Adam Jones.

When Manny was waiting for the new pitcher to warm up Dustin Pedroia was talking to Manny Machado. Fans watching MASN could read Pedroia's lips as he said to Manny, "It's not me" meaning Pedroia didn't want Manny to get hit then.
