Orioles centerfielder Adam Jones and Orioles 3rd baseman Manny Machado are probably the best players on the team. Both players can field, hit, and throw. They are heading into their 6th season as teammates. Last night, the two All-Star players went against each other. This game was a really important game in the World Baseball Classic, to see which team would get go to the semifinal.

Adam Jones had already been a hero for team U.S.A in the World Baseball Classic, with a walk-off single to win a game against team Colombia.

Manny Machado had been a hero on the Dominican Republic. He has made outstanding plays and has hit home runs and even hit an RBI double too. The Dominican Republic won the last WBC in 2013.

It was the game to advance to the semifinals. If you lost, you were out.

While a lot of people (including me) were sleeping, something amazing happened. It was the bottom of the 7th. U.S.A was winning 4-2. Manny Machado came up to bat. Manny hits the ball. The baseball flies into center field where his O's teammate Adam Jones is playing. It looks like it's going to be a home run. But then, Adam Jones makes an amazing catch and the stadium goes wild! On his way back to the dugout, Manny Machado tipped his cap to Adam Jones. A lot of people (including me) woke up this morning to see many tweets about the catch.

What a catch! And it's even more special to have two outstanding Orioles players make it happen.

Team U.S.A won the game 6-3 and will play Japan in the semifinals.
