Meeting Manny!!

My amazing day at Orioles Camp was coming to a close when there was one last surprise. 

Kristen Hudak, the Orioles PR director, told my dad and I to wait in the media room - saying that she might be able to help us with one more interview. 

My dad and I waited and every time the door opened we looked at the door. About 5 minutes later, Manny Machado comes walking in. My dad said, "Oh my gosh". I turned around and saw Manny Machado walk in. I had a mixture of feelings. I was a little nervous but at the same time I was so excited to talk to my favorite baseball player Manny Machado!

I started to talk and ask him questions. I asked him who his best friend is on the team (Jonathan Schoop). I asked "Are you excited for opening day?" He said yes but he said, "2 years ago we started off in Tampa we came home and did the carpet it just didn't feel the same". I also asked Manny "If you didn't play 3rd base which position would you play?" He answered "I think I would play shortstop, it's a good position more action. Sometimes I get bored at 3rd." 

During Tuesday's intra-scrimmage Manny played shortstop. I asked him why he was playing shortstop. Manny answered "To get ready for the World Baseball Classic." Manny is playing for Dominican Republic. I was curious to know what does Manny Machado like to do in Sarasota after he is finished training? He said "I like fishing but I am not good at fishing. I can never catch a fish!"
